St. Linus: Mass Ministries

Altar Servers

Altar servers assist the priest and other ministers at Mass and other liturgical events for the sake of an edifying worship experience. They are responsible for setting up the altar, vessels and cloths for the service of God. They do much of the practical movement so that everything will be in its proper place at the proper time. For more information, please contact Mr. Michael McDonald at macd913@aol.comThank you!

Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)

Join in a special children's focused explanation of the Mass readings every other Sunday. You can volunteer as a Service Leader or a Parent Volunteer. Please contact Christine Ackerman at for more information.  Thank you!

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Please contact Fr. Jeff at if you are interested in learning more about becoming an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. Extraordinary Ministers assist the priest in distributing Holy Communion at weekend Masses, bringing the Eucharist to the sick at area hospitals, nursing homes, and making home visits to those unable to participate in community worship.

The Ministry of Lector is to proclaim the Word of God in love and truth at our liturgy so that worshippers may come to hear the Word with understanding. Lectors undergo training on how to proclaim, but more importantly are encouraged to read the Sacred Scripture and ponder it so that when they speak, they are in essence the voice of God proclaiming His Word for our salvation, for "faith comes from what is heard." (Romans 10:17). For more information, please contact us at Thank you!

Music Ministry

The Music Ministry intensifies the celebration of the Liturgy as it becomes actively involved by listening, praying, and singing. Singing at the liturgies belongs to everyone but the ministry recognizes the special gift of musical talent. In addition to its liturgical role, the choirs enhances the seasons of the Church year by performing seasonal concerts such as Advent, Christmas, and Lent. These concerts are an opportunity for the choir members to help us to enter into these seasons in a special way and to showcase their talents. We are proud at St. Linus to have two choirs, both an Adult Choir and a Children’s choir.  These choirs sing separately every other weekend.  Children’s choirs sings at the 9:00a Mass every other week whereas the Adult Choir sings at the 11:00a Mass every other week.  For more information please contact our Music Director Will Sawyer at

The greeter’s ministry is made up of individual, couples and families that greet parishioners as the come in to the church, welcoming them to St. Linus.  This is a great way to welcome all to St. Linus, as well as an opportunity to see those who you know and greet them.  For more information please contact Christine Ackerman at

The usher ministry helps with the collection during Mass and other special projects needed during Mass. For more information, please contact us at  Thank you!
