Religious Education: Registration

Religious Ed News!

9/29/14: We hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying a blessed start to the autumn season!

We wanted to keep you updated on the latest information regarding the start date of our religious Ed classes. As you know, our hope was to begin classes in mid-October. In fact, we had our calendars completed and ready to email to you this week. Unfortunately, we recently received news of a setback from the construction company that is working with us to create our new classrooms in the Lower Church of St. Linus Parish. The company has had a manufacturing delay and the movable walls now are not expected to arrive before early November.

Needless to say, without these additional classrooms we cannot effectively and safely offer classes to the large number of students enrolled in our program. Therefore, we have no choice but to postpone our opening sessions. We will keep you posted as we receive further information from the construction company and work to create a revised calendar.

As always, your patience and understanding during this time of transition is greatly appreciated. As we know, there are things we can control and many things that we cannot. In this instance, as in all things, we trust in our firm belief that the Holy Spirit is with us and will lead us to a fruitful year together soon.

In Faith,

Jennifer and Mike

9/27/14: We are blessed and excited to have so many children and teens joining us this year! Due to our large numbers, however, we still are in need of many Catechists to help us in our program. We ask that you prayerfully consider joining our Religious Ed Family of Catechists.

If you feel called to this ministry, please contact us as soon as possible. We cannot do it without you and we do not currently have enough Catechists to cover all of our classes!! We will be most happy to provide you with all of the materials and support you will need to have a wonderful year with our children and teens! Specifically, we are in need of additional Catechists to teach in the following grades and time slots:

Grade 1: Wednesdays, 3:45-4:45 p.m.

Grade 2: Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Grade 3: Wednesdays, 3:45-4:45 p.m. (2 Catechists Needed)

Grade 4: Sundays, 10:15-11:15 a.m.; Sundays, 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.; Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Grade 5: Sundays, 10:15-11:15 a.m. (2 Catechists Needed); Sundays, 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

We also are in need of a few additional Catechists for our older grades:

Grades 6-8 (Wednesdays, twice per month, 6-7:15 p.m.); Grades 9-10 (Sundays, once per month, 5:30-8:15 p.m.)

Please contact Jennifer (religiousednatick@gmail.com) for Grades 1-5 or Mike (religiousednatickmike@gmail.com) for Grades 6-10. Many thanks!

Sundays: 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

***Schedule for Grades 6-10***

As we begin our journey as the St. Patrick/St. Linus collaborative community, we continually are looking for feedback to provide the best religious education experience for your child(ren).  As a result of such feedback, we have opted to change the times and offerings of our religious education classes for grades 6-10.  Grades 6-8 will now meet twice a month on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:15 at St. Linus Parish.  Grades 9 and 10 will meet once a month from 5:30-8:15 at St. Patrick's (on different weeks).  These changes have been in response to numerous conversations with families about their particular religious education needs.  We hope that this model will be beneficial to our families and best serve the collective needs of our community.  More specifics will be distributed in the coming weeks.

Registration forms for the 2014-2015 Religious Ed Year are now available.  You can register by submitting a form (available in the information area of both churches or by downloading a registration form here).  All registration forms should be mailed to St. Patrick Rectory, 44 East Central Street, Natick, MA 01760 Attn: Religious Education.  At this time we are suspending direct online registration as we are in the process of redesigning our Natick Collaborative Parish Website and census program.

Please note that, due to our new evolving collaborative format, we will not be able to offer our optional Kindergarten Program this year.  Religious Ed classes will run from Grades 1-10.

We truly appreciate your support and patience as we work together to make our new collaborative religious education program a wonderful and prayerful experience for all of our children and teens.  May the Holy Spirit be with us as we embark on this journey, together in faith!  Please contact Jennifer (Grades 1-5,religiousednatick@gmail.com ) or Mike (Grades 6-10, religiousednatickmike@gmail.com ) with any questions.
